The Return of the Mighty YOB

As Noisecreep reported last month, veteren Pacific Northwest doomsters YOB have reunited and will be releasing a new album in '09, entitled 'The Great Cessation.' The band recently completed tracking and mixing the new record with producer Sandford Parker (Nachtmystium, Pelican, Samothrace), and Noisecreep managed to get some exclusive shots from the studio.
"YOB has been having a blast being a band again," guitarist/vocalist Mike Scheidt tells Noisecreep. "We are very excited about our new material and imminent album that will be coming out on Profound Lore sometime this summer. It runs the gamut of everything our fans expect of us, with all new twists and vibes that accompany a new YOB release. Aaron Reiseberg is working out amazingly well as our new bassist. His skills are unquestionable and he's been a great friend of ours for many years prior to joining the band. It couldn't be better. At this point we are looking at doing a couple of west coast shows in San Francisco and Los Angeles in June and we hope to set up a CD release show in Seattle for July if all goes according to plan. After that, we don't have a clue! We're keeping the band underground and we like it that way. DOOM!!!"
