From the Depths: Hole In The Sky Fest, Behemoth, Negura Bunget
FESTIVAL ALERT: The infamous Hole In The Sky Metal Festival, which is held every year in Bergen, Norway, has announced this year's jaw-dropping lineup. Enslaved will be hosting a night of true Norwegian black metal classics, joined by members of Darkthrone, Mayhem and Emperor. For the first time since 1996, Infernus has teamed up with vocalist Pest from the classic mid nineties Gorgoroth line-up; joined by Frank Watkins of Obituary, they have promised to reintroduce some tracks from the legendary "Pentagram" album, which hasn't been played for nearly 15 years.ALBUM UPDATE: Polish blackened death metal troupe Behemoth have finished recording their forthcoming album, 'Evangelion,' at Radio Gdansk in Poland. Frontman Adam "Nergal" Darski will be flying to the UK to join Colin Richardson for final mixing at Miloco Studios in London. Nergal comments: "I've just finished tracking down the vocals for 'Evangelion.' My chords are worn out and I can hardly speak, but at the same time I'm so happy and satisfied with the way it turned out this time. With 'Evangelion,' I made sure it doesn't sound just brutal; songs are more diverse and so are my vocals. There's definitely more emotions and expression in it. You'll be surprised!"
SPLIT: Negura Bunget has parted ways with two of its members, and will apparently be continuing as two separate entities. Don't get yours hopes up for another Gorgoroth-style media circus, though; these mystic Romanian black metallers are seeking to deal with their difficult situation a bit more delicately. A statement from the band reads,"This has to be one of the most difficult messages to be written. We are sorry to announce that Hupogrammos and Sol Faur have ended their journey along Negura Bunget. Our paths are now apart. We wish them all the best on their new endeavors (their new project will be announced at a later time). Meanwhile, a new Negura Bunget line-up is assembled , which will continue the path started almost 15 years ago. Rest assure, we are keen to prove there is more to be said by this band, and we will work to fulfill our spiritual endeavor relentlessly."
