3 Inches of Blood Find New Label, Talk New Album
Vancouver metal mavens 3 Inches of Blood continue to defend the faith, waving the flag for old school metal, happily celebrating metal iconry like patches and logo buttons affixed to jean jackets, devil horns held high and tons of rip-roaring riffs. They supported the most recent leg of the Slipknot tour, which makes sense since drummer Joey Jordison produced the band's last album, 'Fire up the Blades.'
But there will be no rest for the wicked once their run of shows wraps up. "After this tour is done, we go to Seattle to resume recording of the next album with Jack Endino. Drums were completed prior to this run of shows and guitars are next," singer Cam Pipes, whose high-soaring vocals could melt polar ice caps, told Noisecreep in a quick update from the road. But the band has intimated that it is more than happy and excited about the new direction of their business matters.
As for the music, the band's next album will be released on new label Century Media. The band has yet to reveal the title. Despite a label and a line-up change which saw screamy vocalist Jamie Hooper go on indefinite hiatus as 'Blades' was unleashed, 3IOB will remain on the road in support of their latest power metal opus until there's no more tread on their tour vehicle tires and until every last metalhead is converted to their lair. The release date for the band's CMR debut has yet to be determined, as well.
