Nikstock 2009: Belladonna, The Rods Headline
What's better than two days, 40 bands, 100 kegs and a bikini contest? Nothing. Nikstock 2009 offers all that and more. The festival takes place June 19 and 20 at Thunder Mountain Speedway in Center Lisle, New York. The brain child of promoter Nick Fuoco, Nikstock is now celebrating its 24th anniversary. Nikstock isn't your average festival. Ticket prices are low (just $25 in advance) but more importantly – the event is a major showcase for up and coming and already established metal and rock acts. So, local bands get to play on a big stage and reap the benefits of major exposure.
This year, The Rods and Joey Belladonna of Anthrax fame will headline the event. Regional bands earn time slots by number of tickets sold. The fest tends to draw a sizeable party-hearty crowd.
Fans are allowed to bring outside food and drink to the fest and camping is also available.
