Jet 'K.I.A. (Killed In Action)' -- VIDEO
A how-to-guide of the most gruesome kind, the video is a blood-smeared black comedy that's hilarious and warped, and, yes, even a little hard to watch, particularly the meat-slicer scene.
"We had come out of such a dark second album," says lead singer/guitarist Nic Cester of 2006's 'Shine On.' "So first of all, it's not really an effort because we're not miserable anymore."
"It's more fun which is what we really are," adds his brother, drummer/vocalist Chris Cester,
"So now we're just back to being us again, normal us," Nic continues. "We like to have a f---in' laugh. We saw this thing on the Internet, the 'Hipster Olympics,' and we just thought it was f---in' hilarious so we contacted these guys and [told them] we were looking to do something for this song."
"K.I.A." was directed by Taige Jensen of the Brooklyn-based comedy syndicate POYKPAC, which created Hipster Olympics. Their best known YouTube video is 'Mario: Game Over,' which has received close to 14 million views.
"We got these guys to come up with the concept," laughs Chris. "We just want to put some color back into it, you know."
By color, he must mean red.
