Kids Like Us Bomb Their Tags In 'Serves the South'

Kids Like Us play Johnny Scofflaw to Florida's police department in 'Serves the South,' off of their newest Eulogy Recordings offering, 'The Game.' "'Serves the South' is about graffiti in the South," the band succinctly told Noisecreep. "It's not a race, it's a marathon." Graffiti is a lifestyle as much as it is an artform: A great deal of its creation is anonymity, since most jurisdictions have laws against defacing of property.

Graffiti -- not just in Florida, but in the whole subculture -- is something that hasn't been talked about extensively in the metal and hardcore world, owing to the fact that it's more a part of hip-hop than rock. The graffiti scene in Florida features a brighter color palette than their more well-known counterparts in New York or Los Angeles (one quick look at Kids Like Us' MySpace page shows that they reflect this style).
