God Dethroned's Susan Gerl on How She Hooked up With the Band

Susan Gerl has been shredding her ass off in God Dethroned for nine months now. She is quickly assimilating into her role. And it's one she relishes, since she was a fan of the band prior to her membership in it. "I have known them for the beginning, and I even have their demo on tape somewhere," Gerl told Noisecreep. "I love the first two full-lengths, 'Bloody Blasphemy' and 'Grand Grimoire.' I even played along to some of their songs when I would practice to my guitar and now I can do it for real!"
She may have been an initial fan of the fan and is now living the dream, but Gerl admits to losing track of what God Dethroned were doing until she heard that they were seeking a new guitarist. "I emailed them and their former drummer lives near me and he didn't think I'd be available for the job, but it all fell into place," Gerl said. "I was told afterwards that they knew, when I sent the email to them originally, that I would get the job."
The fist of good karma came down on Gerl and God Dethroned, who will hit the road to tour in support of 'Passiondale' in October.
Gerl realizes that her gender may inspire some interest in her band, saying, "I think that people would be interested because the band itself has a new guitarist, since the band is so well-known. But I guess it may draw some more attention, since there aren't that many females in this type of music, which is positive. We have had positive reactions to me being in the band." Girls rule!
