Maylene and the Sons of Disaster Tracks Getting WWE Airtime

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster are all over the wrestling world right now. The band's latest single, 'Step Up (I'm on It),' has been selected as the official theme song for the WWE's forthcoming 'Bragging Rights' Pay-Per-View event, which takes place on Oct. 25. The song will also air in the commercial for the new WWE video game, 'WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010.'
But the Southern metal band has further upped it's wrestling ante and cred, and has been in the studio recording the WWE Superstar theme entrance music for the Unified Tag Team Champion duo of Big Show and metal fan Chris Jericho. The song is called 'Crank the Walls Down.'
"We were approached by the WWE to write the new theme song for the tag team partnership of Chris Jericho and The Big Show," guitarist Kelly Nunn told Noisecreep. "I think our management or label had the new single 'Step Up' submitted for the video game and WWE loved the song and wanted to use for their commercial, and later offered to use it for 'Bragging Rights.' The rest is history.
Just like many guys their age, professional wrestling was a staple growing up."It's exciting to see, because we all grew up loving wrestling. Being on the road, we don't get to watch it as much, but we all have fond memories of body slamming our siblings because of WWE. It was an honor to work with them and would love to do something again in the future."
