Heavy Metal Karaoke Kicks Off This January in Hollywood
The house band features Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Zombie, Cryptic Slaughter) on bass, Tommy Victor (Prong, Danzig, Ministry) on guitar, Tommy Clufetos (Rob Zombie, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent) on drums. But don't let those pedigrees deter or intimidate you. These dudes want you to get up on stage with them and sing your ass off! There will be a designated singer registration at each event that will feature a song list to choose from, including classics from Black Sabbath, Metallica, Judas Priest, Slayer, Pantera and Iron Maiden, as well as many others.
Blasko told Noisecreep, "Heavy Metal Karaoke was spawned from a few late-night, booze-filled brainstorm sessions. We all play others people's music for a living already, so why not take it a step further? Let's face it, we just wanna have fun, and we want all our friends and fans to have fun with us! Heavy Metal Karaoke is more than a band, it's a f---ing party, and everyone is invited and encouraged to be a part of the madness!"
Blasko understands that what the band is doing is pure fun, too, saying, "Don't get me wrong, it's not like we are reinventing the wheel here," he said. "But we definitely plan on being the best karaoke band ever, by involving the fan -- the fanatical metalhead -- to get up on stage and sing with us! Here is a chance to sing some of your favorite metal jams with a real band, not some unsatisfying, lame ass backing tracks!
"Aside from the greatness that will be Heavy Metal Karaoke, you can count on plenty of surprise guests, amazing gift bags for all the participating singers and an awesome grand prize for the best singer of the night!" Aspiring vocalists, start practicing to hit them high notes. Blasko finished, "This is real metal played for real metal fans by real metal musicians ... not a bunch of posers in wigs and spandex! If you plan on attending, you better be ready to party, heavy metal style!"
Locations include The Whisky in Hollywood on Jan. 12 and 26, and Feb. 9 and 23, and Brick by Brick in San Diego on Jan. 21, Feb. 4 and 18 and March 4.
