It's been more than two weeks since the sudden disappearance of Metallica fan Morgan Harrington, and on Nov. 2, Harrington's parents, Gil and Dan, announced the formation of a special fund, which they hope will help find their missing daughter. Harrington was last seen on Oct. 17 at a Metallica concert in Virginia, wearing a Pantera T-shirt, black boots and a black mini-skirt.

In a statement, the Harringtons said they were "deeply moved by the outpouring of support we've received since our daughter disappeared," and said they created the Find Morgan Fund at the request of friends and supporters. Money collected through the fund will go towards the ongoing search effort for the 20-year-old Virginia Tech student. Unused funds will go to charities that assist families of missing persons, the Harringtons said.

"We are truly grateful for your kindness and we thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers," the Harringtons' statement ends. The Harringtons will use the fund to print and distribute fliers and other materials with photos and descriptions of their daughter. The parents distributed 50,000 fliers at Virginia Tech's home football game last week.

Meanwhile, a police spokesperson told reporters Monday that police are still getting leads in the case, but that they have slowed down.

Last week, Metallica's Kirk Hammett spoke about Harrington's case. "We are staying positive that she will be found soon," he said. "We are all hoping for the best and praying for her and her family. We all have children and as parents ourselves, it's our worst nightmare for a child to go out and not come back home. We empathize with that greatly, so we are doing what we can to help find her. We are staying positive."
