Saosin Just Want to be Heard

"Growth is mostly a changing of your influences," Saosin guitarist Justin Shekoski explains to Noisecreep. "I know I, as well as all of the other guys [in the band], don't listen to what we listened to during the writing of our first record. I think positive growth for a band should be a broadening of your spectrum of music."

Post hardcore rockers Saosin are finally back with 'In Search of Solid Ground.' Recorded with many producers, including Butch Walker, the young band took a long time formulating the songs for the follow-up to their critically acclaimed, self-titled debut. For the guys in the band, working with Walker was a natural choice.

"I think the fact that we were fans of his first solo record for a long time and everything that he has produced has had a really great sound," explains Shekoski regarding Walker. "We thought that he could help make our sound more accessible to a wider audience."

Not that Saosin are selling out. In fact, the new album points to quite the contrary. In the end, Shekoski and the rest of the guys in the band just want their new album heard. "I think the more people you have listening to what you have to say, the better."

Saosin will tour behind 'In Search of Solid Ground' through Dec. 20.
