Scorpions Announce New Album Title, Plan for World Tour
Scorpions are about to hit the road again ... and in a very big way. The famous German rockers will embark on a two-year world tour. The band will also release a new album in early 2010 called 'Sting in the Tail.' "We are working on 12 songs at the moment," guitarist Mathias Jabs recently told the Scorps News blog. "Great stuff. Definitely 'Scorpionized' in sound and attitude. More towards the early [1980s]."An international press conference is set for January, where the band will reveal all the dates for the Get Your Sting and Blackout world tour. The Scorps will play shows in Germany, then progress to the U.S., South America and so on around the world, hitting the biggest concert venues in Asia, Russia and much of Europe.
This month, the band will release 'Amazonia -- Live In The Jungle,' a special live DVD to help fight deforestation in Brazil. The DVD helps fans relive a special 2007 concert where the Scorps played live, deep in the Brazilian rain forest.
