Aerosmith's Steven Tyler Enters Rehab For Pain Pills
According to reports, Tyler has entered a drug rehab facility for pain management and an addiction to prescription painkillers fueled by 10 years of on-stage injuries. Tyler issued a statement on the matter, saying that he was "taking responsibility for the management of my pain" and that he's "eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford."
Tyler added that he loves the band and "I love performing as the lead singer in Aerosmith. I am grateful for all of the support and love I am receiving and am committed to getting things taken care of."
In a separate statement, Tyler's daughter, actress Liv Tyler, says that Tyler's entire family supports his decision to get treatment. "He is a courageous man," she says. "We love him and are so proud that he is getting help to balance his pain management, not just for himself but for his family, friends and fans."
Tyler suffers from "severe chronic pain" from years of orthopedic injuries and he will need additional surgeries on his knees and feet.
