Divide the Sea, 'In Knowing, Triumph' -- Killer Lyrics
Killer Lyrics: His sword is mine / Yours offed your head / In knowing the truth is shown / Tens of thousands in my wake lay dead.
Divide the Sea is one of Blood & Ink's newest signings, and the song 'In Knowing, Triumph' from their debut release, 'Man,' takes heavy cues from Old Testament literature, particularly the story of David and Goliath. "David went out to fight Goliath," vocalist Caleb explained to Noisecreep. "And King Saul tried giving him this armor to wear, but it was too heavy and cumbersome for David, who was just a kid."
David rejected Saul's war equipment and went into battle his own way. "And in the end, after the battle," Caleb continued. "David's popularity grew and the people sang songs about him, and one was, 'Saul has slain his thousands, but David his 10 thousands.'"
For Caleb, the story has significant meaning in relation to his Christian beliefs. "Well, the main overall theme is that if you study God's word and memorize it and hide it in heart then you will be triumphant in every battle ... hence, 'In Knowing, Triumph'" he explained about the song's meaning, "... That's why the lyrics in the song ends the way they do. Because if you fight your battles with the right weapons, then 10s of thousand will lay dead in your wake. You will triumph."
'Man' will be released on Jan. 26. Divide the Sea will be touring January through February to support the release.
