Part of a great summer music festival is the anticipation that builds around its tour lineup. While most of us are making it through the winter, the third annual Rockstar Mayhem Festival is preparing to unveil its entire cast on Jan. 20, just in time to warm us up. A handful of confirmed acts have been announced, which include Korn, Rob Zombie, Lamb of God and Five Finger Death Punch. (Ed. note - we had previously reported that Unearth, As I Lay Dying, Whitechapel and Killswitch Engage were performing, but these acts were unconfirmed.)UPDATE: Rockstar Mayhem Fest 2010 Bill to Feature Korn, Rob Zombie, Atreyu
This summer marks the third year for the successful festival, which was founded by the creators of Taste of Chaos and Vans Warped Tour. Last year, it traveled around the U.S. for just under 30 dates, spanning across July and August. The rumor mill for 2010 has been churning since November, with talks of Rob Zombie and Hatebreed showing up on the list of performers, in addition to Korn.
Towards the end of last year's run, Noisecreep posted a collection of photo from the event, offering a visual explanation of how the fans and artists equally reveled in its glory. There's no doubt that the upcoming lineup will impress and inspire metal fans around the country to start readying for warmer weather and planning what will surly be their first of many epic summer events.
