A Hero a Fake Want to be the Busiest Band of 2010

With 'Let Oceans Lie' coming out last week and the video for the title track debuting on MTV2, there's a lot going on in the A Hero a Fake camp. "Our new album just released, so it's been quite hectic lately for us," guitarist Eric told Noisecreep. "We started the five-week 'Let Oceans Lie' tour on Jan. 25, and then the Rise of Victory Tour begins in shortly after with our labelmates, Farewell to Freeway and Before There Was Rosalyn. We're aiming to be the busiest band of 2010, so we have a lot of work to do!"A Hero a Fake hail from North Carolina, the same hood as the like-minded Between the Buried and Me, also a Victory band. Given their shared geographic locale and similar artsy/screamy sonics, it makes complete and total sense for people to compare the two bands.
"I'm not going to lie," Eric said. "BTBAM were a huge influence for me as I matured musically. Though it wasn't so much their certain style of metal that inspired me. It was the willingness to take risks with their music that had the most profound influence. That affinity for stepping outside genre constraints plus being from the same area is probably the reason we get compared so often."
