Impending Doom Lose Two Founding Members

One of the most evil-sounding Christian metal bands, deathcore outfit Impending Doom, have announced the departure of two of their original members, guitarist Manny Contreras and drummer Isaac Bueno.

"Both of them felt like this was not for them anymore," said David Sittig, bassist of the Riverside, Calif. group. "It happened a while back before we entered the studio [to record our new album]. Not everyone can maintain the amount of passion that Impending Doom requires. That being said, we are still great friends with both Manny and Isaac and wish them both nothing but the best."

Ex-Mirror of Dead Faces drummer Brandon Trahan has replaced Bueno and recently finished tracking drums in the studio for the follow-up to 2009's 'The Servant Server,' which is scheduled for release this summer.

Impending Doom have not yet replaced Contreras, but Sittig said, "We have someone stepping in for our upcoming tours and summer festivals." The band's next show is March 27 at Bamboozle Left! in Anaheim, Calif.

In 2008, Impeding Doom had some Christians reaching for their crucifixes when they launched their repentagram logo, which looks like a symbol from Anton LaVey's 'Satanic Bible' or 'The Simon Necronomicon.' In actuality, the band wanted to create a Christian death metal symbol that represented good, not evil.

"First off, we are a Christian band and a 'real' one at that," said the band in a statement. "We would never put something out that had Satanic meaning or anything negative. We thought up the word 'repentagram' basically putting two words together. 1) 'Repent' (meaning: to feel such sorrow for sin or fault as to be disposed to change one's life for the better; be penitent.) 2. 'Pentagram (which, in the dark metal world, is a satanic symbol).

"Since we are a Christian death metal band we wanted to think up something clever; thus the repentagram came into thought. It is not the same amount of sides as a pentagram, we are going for making a Christian death metal symbol. Just like we created the word 'gorship' (which as you all should know, does not mean worship gore, it means worshiping God through our gore sounding music)."

At the time, they created the repentagram, Impending Doom were likely unaware that Slayer sound-alike Demiricous had a song called 'Repentagram' on their 2005 album 'One.' Also, if you believe their MySace, Repentagram is a satanic band from Queens, which dates back to 1998. The group recorded tracks like 'F--- the Rules/Satan Is a Fact' and 'School Is for Dummies' for the never-released album 'Dark Fathers Instruction,' and claim that Impending Doom "will be punished on the altar of sacrifice."

Maybe prayer really is the solution for these guys.

Impending Doom rocks! They are absolutely Christian and their lyrics prove that. Their lyrics are so deep and they really bring the message and word of God to an audience that could not be reached by any other means. God put them here to do his work and to use them to glorify his name which is what they do everytime they take the stage and preach through their music. Satan and his demons are the ones behind comments to the effect that this band is satanic and it's logo is satanic. This is just the enemy trying to take what God is using for good and make it something bad, guess what, the one and only true Lord king and savior Jesus Christ, the Lord father God almighty will take what Satan is trying to make into bad, and make it shine for the glory of his name. These boys rock the roof off of the house, and they do it all in Gods glorious name. Praise God and God Bless Impending Doom. Keep on rockin and putting out tracks that bring Gods name to this different and very difficult genre of people to reach. With most sincerest love, you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
