Ozzy Osbourne to Let Fans Pick Title for Next Album

In early December, Ozzy Osbourne revealed that he was mulling 'Soul Sucka' as the title of his forthcoming record, and the entire heavy metal community let out a collective 'Huh?' Late last month, Ozzy thought better of the move and explained that feedback from his fans forced his hand. "They were like, 'I can't imagine me walking around the f---ing house with the words 'Soul Sucka' on my T-shirt.' So I was like, 'F--- it. I've got to come up with something else!'"It seems as though Ozzy actually trusts his fans, because the self-proclaimed Prince of Darkness says he's going to let the fans name his album.
Osbourne says that "this time, before I even announce what I'm going to call it, I'm going to get a list of names and post it on my Web site and find out which people like the best." Osbourne did not reveal any of the titles he's considering, but he has described the album as "very heavy. It's a cross between -- it's kind of like a [Black Sabbath]/Ozzy album, you know. It's kind of, it wasn't meant to, I didn't plan on doing it but that's the way it unfolded. A lot of it's very, very heavy. I just hope people like it. I love it."
Ozzy's record is slated for release in July and follows 2007's 'Black Rain.' The disc will drop the same month Ozzfest returns after going black in 2009. Ozzy will also be touring in support of the album this fall.

This is both surprising and not surprising in a good way. I did not expect Ozzy to let his fans choose the name for the album. It is not surprising to me, however, that Ozzy trusts his fans. I am looking forward to hearing this album when it comes out.

This man really cares about his fans and his music.He gave his fans a free tour.Not a free concert,a free tour. He supported the tour out of his own pocket.Name another musician that has done that,you can't because there isn't one.I saw Black Sabbath twice in the 70s and he gave you more then your moneys worth.He deserves to be in the so called Rock and Roll hall of fame and he should have been inducted long before he was.I love these performers that say their a blue collar band yet with even all the money they have their ticket prices continue to go up.Ozzy is the real deal and hes still got it!!

Let me guess, glitterari - You are a Lady Gaga/Taylor Swift/Black Eyed Peas fan, right? Or are you just a fan of whatever "corporate radio" TELLS you to listen to? Most likely an American Idol junkie as well.
While it is sad to see what drugs and rock 'n roll excess have done to Ozzy, the man IS a musical genius and has probably forgotten more about MUSIC than you will ever know in a dozen life times. So stop being jealous and spiteful because you have no discernable talents, and give the man credit - he can still rock harder than most anyone out there.

Ozzy is and always will be a legend. He remembers all the words to his songs cause he actually writes them. He doesn't have other people doing it for him. He will still be rocking long after the majority of the so-called musicians nowadays are forgotton.

Yes there is a difference between a "singer" and a genius like Ozzy who writes and sings and does everything else for himself. He humbled himself enough to admit that his biggest regret is mistreating someone...he is not only a legend but a sensitive and honest person who has opened up his life to help others. He gives and gives more than you'll know and you don't have to like him...he has plenty of fans who love and adore him...I bet you're one of those lame give me something for nothing who took advantage of his kindness and saw his show for free and now wants to rag on him...go back to whoever you listen to cause they be nobodys in no time

Okay, why can't you like idol, lady gaga and ozzy? I love 80s hair bands, 90s grunge and all the metal heads and everything else in between. I can understand how someone might think that oz can't handle his own because of the "reality" show, but gimme a break. Music is art and not all artists are for everybody, or in my case, I haven't found an artist that I don't like.

He is simply the best.I saw him for the first time live in 1979 at MSG in New York City when he was with Sabbath.He was awesome then and is still awesome today yes 31 years ago .Wow I'm getting old but I still and always will listen to Ozzy .The man has been around for 40 + years and still writes,,performs,tours,and sings better and like no other .He is and always will simply be the best ..Bobby W - age 46 Bx N.Y......
