Slash Names Myles Kennedy Singer For Upcoming Tour
In his blog, Slash explained the choice. "Myles sang a killer track on the record and I think he is by far one of the best rock ... singers out there today," he writes. "I'm really honored and proud to be working with him."
Noisecreep can attest to the fact the feeling is very mutual. We spoke with Kennedy recently about working with Slash on the record and Kennedy turned back into the teenage fan of the guitar god. "What a huge honor," Kennedy said to Noisecreep. "He's such an icon, and he's such an amazing guitar player and he's a part of probably my favorite rock record of all time, 'Appetite For Destruction,' so it was a real thrill for me."
The album will be released in the States April 6, with the tour to start sometime after. In his blog where he unveiled Kennedy as the touring singer, he added, "I'll announce the other band members shortly." If he draws from the album like he did with Kennedy, that's going to be one amazing group, as musical guests include Dave Grohl, Duff McKagan and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' Flea.
With all of the eclectic guests, which also include Maroon 5's Adam Levine, Fergie and Iggy Pop, the album is sure to be as wild as Slash says. Speaking to Noisecreep while he finished up the album, he said, "It's really cool to listen to now that I have it sequenced and I can listen to all the songs in the order that we thought was the best order, and it's just great 'cause it's a really entertaining record, it's sort of a little bit like a roller coaster."
