Black Tusk Finish Album, Play Fests, Tour With Weedeater
One week later, Black Tusk will be in Austin, Texas to perrform at the Tone Deaf showcase for South by Southwest. "This will be our third time playing SXSW," the band recently told Noisecreep. "The first time we played it, Andrew's hand was in a cast, and we had a fill-in guitar player on tour with us while Andrew just sang. The following year, everyone was asking what happened to our singer -- guess they missed the big neon green cast!"
After SXSW, Black Tusk will continue on the road for four weeks with Weedeater and Struck by Lightning, covering plenty of ground in the U.S. The band also just completed their next album, 'Taste the Sin,' with engineers Jay Matheson and Steve Slavich. "We feel that the title captures the overall feeling and mood of the album. It's a continuation of the themes from 'Passage Through Purgatory,' but on this album the songs are more focused on certain things," said members of the band, who are aiming to release the record in May on Relapse.
