Story of the Year Vocalist Celebrates Best Things About St. Louis

Story of the Year hail from the metropolis that is St. Louis. Despite being able to tour and get a taste of life in other geographic locations, vocalist Dan Marsala still lives in Missouri. "It's not real exciting, and the weather is horrible," the singer told Noisecreep. "But the seasons are our favorite thing. We lived in California for a year, and the seasons do not change there. I felt like I was in a time warp. I love the extremes of the heat in the summer and the freezing cold in the winter. That has kept me in St. Louis."
In honor of St. Louis and its seasons, Marsala waxed on his favorite -- and deceptively simple -- things about his home city.
The people: "I like the Midwest. I've toured the world and country many times, but the Midwest people are my favorite. There are extremes, in terms of people, on the West and East Coasts. There are some weird and stupid people in the Midwest, too, don't get me wrong. But there are more extremes on the coasts."
The food: "There is a lot of fattening food, and I eat a lot. That is always a struggle. I'm always trying to not gain hundreds of pounds."
Story of the Year's 'The Constant' is out Feb. 16.
