Charred Walls of the Damned May Tour, Second Album Possible
"At first, it was hard to take it seriously," Owens told Noisecreep. "It's Richard Christy putting a project together, without people knowing that he was still drumming but knowing him from being on Howard Stern. When they hear the songs, they will take it serious. It will be hard to do a lot of touring, since Richard is on the show and there is only a small window. My summer is booked up, so I am trying to fit some touring and shows in late April. I would love to do shows, but it's going to be hard to find the time."
The possibility of a second Charred Walls of the Damned record isn't remote, either. The project is fluid and doesn't have a lot of money behind it requiring recoupability to the record company. "I would probably think there will be another record, depending on how this does with everything and if we tour," Owens said. "It depends on how it does. You are not talking about a big budget record here, so that's an advantage. I don't think there is any doubt in everyone's mind. Metal Blade, Richard and Suecof think there will be another record. It might take Richard eight years to do it, but, look at the anticipation and the reviews, which have been great."
Given Christy's role on the Stern show, and the host's continued mentions on air, CWOTD might end up reaching a larger audience and gain further recognition. "If that doesn't do it, what would?' Owens theorized. "I don't know who the listeners are, but there are more people listening to that show in the morning than anything else. I think it has caught on so much in America. I get so many emails from people talking about it, but I think Howard's show, without a doubt, is spreading the word. If it doesn't impact something, it might be time [for us] to retire. I bet half of his listeners are heavy metal fans."
