Ringworm Frontman Turns Up With Dirty Biker Rockers Gluttons

Ringworm's Human Furnace -- such a hot name, no? -- is a busy man. In addition to fronting Ringworm and working as a tattoo artist, he's now playing guitar and singing for fellow Cleveland band Gluttons, which is Motörhead-style biker rock mixed with the filth-caked punk of Discharge. Chris Dora, also of Integrity and Ringworm, bashes the skins and Glutton's five-song debut is out via A-389.

Human Furnace's membership in the band just ... happened. "Gluttons were around a couple years before I joined," Human Furnace told Noisecreep. "We're all friends, and they were looking for a second guitar player, so I went down to the spot, played the songs and I was in."

While he admits he's not sure what Ringworm fans will think of Gluttons, he's not concerned about their reaction, either. "It really doesn't matter, but I think there's a lot of things that 'Worm fans would like about Gluttons. It's fast, pissed, and raw. Like Ringworm."

The Furnace remains one of the busiest men in the hardcore scene. Ringworm have put together a lot of material for their next effort, 'Scars,' which they hope to record in April or May. "We have to sort through to see what makes the record. But it's going to be a very angry record," Furnace warned.

He also is a tattooist who has inked fellow metalions, like Hatebreed's Jamey Jasta, Agnostic Front's Vinnie Stigman and Unsane's Chris Spenser. He runs two shops and does artwork on the side. He has also been writing for the new Holyghost record. "I've been doing a lot of photo realism pieces, lately," he said. "I've been doing a lot of everything lately."

Human Furnace claims that "balance is the key, but unfortunately, sometimes it's very difficult. Doing the bands are fun and a necessity, but it comes with a huge sacrifice. Time, money, destroyed relationships, bad health, blown credit, lost jobs. It's never easy."
