Faith No More's Mike Patton Exposes Himself During Australian Concert

The stories about Faith No More frontman Mike Patton's onstage and offstage antics are the thing of legend. Of course, there was the L7 tampon incident, the urine he drank from a woman's pump and those tales of feces-covered paper towels being stuffed into hotel blow dryers. Last year, when the reunited Faith No More played a festival in Hungary, Patton swallowed a two-foot shoelace from a shoe tossed on stage and tried to sing with half the shoelace down his throat.

But last weekend, when Faith No More brought their reunion run to Brisbane, Australia as part of the Soundwave Festival, things got very personal between Patton and the audience on hand for the festival's headliners.

Basically, Patton pulled out his Mr. Bungle during Faith No More's performance of 'Just a Man.' Yes ... Patton intentionally exposed himself to the crowd, and there is video of the whole debacle.

According to the video and photographs, Patton, halfway through the tune, muttered into the microphone, "Man was born to love." He made his way towards an onstage cameraman and commandeered his equipment, using it to tape the audience as they cheered adoringly for him. This continued for about two minutes before Patton, with the mic in his mouth and somehow still singing the lyrics, angled the camera down towards his lap. He frantically pulled out his manhood, and showed it to the camera -- and hence, the audience -- before the song's close.

No one seemed to take offense to Patton's privates, and there's been no word yet on whether the singer will be held accountable for his decidedly rock 'n' roll actions. In Australia, indecent exposure is punishable by six months to two years in jail. Faith No More's reunion tour continues in the U.S. this spring with several West Coast gigs already selling out. Rumors of a full North American tour continue to fester, but the band has not confirmed such plans.
