Hirax, 'El Rostro de le Muerte' (The Face of Death) -- Video

Longtime California speed thrashers Hirax -- who kicked off their career nearly 30 years ago in 1984 -- have finally released their first official video ever, waiting even longer than their fellow statesmen and friends in Metallica, who didn't release their first video until1989 with 'One.' The viral vid is for the song 'El Rostro de le Muerte' (The Face of Death), which is the title track from their forthcoming fourth album.
"The concept behind the video is based on the religious icon, Santa Muerte, a deity or saint-like figure worshiped or venerated in Mexico, probably a syncretism between Meso-American and Catholic beliefs. The name literally translates to 'Saint Death,'" frontman and sole original member Katon W. De Pena told Noisecreep.
Thanks to the bullet belts, gauntlets, close-panned shots of the band suiting up to perform and laying a bruising on their instruments, the thrash-tastic song, this video will transport you to the 1980s. We particularly love the shots of De Pena crooning in the cemetery.
