Meat Loaf, 'Hang Cool Teddy Bear' -- New Album
The songs on 'Hang Cool Teddy Bear' were inspired by a short story written by Kilian Kerwin. The album is the story of a soldier on the brink of death. Instead of flashing to the past, the injured hero flashes forward. There are difference scenarios and life experiences, but one constant: a certain woman. The album title comes from a line in 'Beyond the Valley of the Dolls.'
'Hang Cool Teddy Bear' features many guest stars, including guitarists Steve Vai and Brian May and actor Hugh Laurie. Laurie is a classically trained pianist, and he lends a hand on the song 'If I Can't Have You.' 'American Idol' judge Kara DioGuardi also appears on 'If I Can't Have You,' both as a songwriter and singer.
Rob Cavallo produced 'Hang Cool Teddy Bear.' The album is due May 11.
