Whitechapel, 'The Darkest Day of Man' -- New Song
The Knoxville death metallers will soon film a video for the track, which is now streaming on the band's MySpace. 'A New Era of Corruption' hits stores June 8.
"We played ['The Darkest Day of Man'] live during our overseas touring at the beginning of this year in Australia and the U.K. and were getting a great response from the crowd for it," explains guitarist Alex Wade. "I feel this song perfectly demonstrates how we have progressed as a band musically and in our songwriting, but have not stepped away from our signature sound."
Previously, Wade had stated that this forthcoming effort "truly represents where we are as musicians at this point in our career. [It] is the heaviest and most aggressive material we have written to date."
The set features a dozen blazing cuts, including 'Breeding Violence,' 'Reprogrammed to Hate,' 'Prayer of Mockery' and 'Nercomechanical.' The new disc will feature guest vocals from the Acacia Strain's Vince Bennett and Deftones frontman Chino Moreno, who Wade says the band's "honored" to have on the record. "All of us are huge Deftones fans so it's pretty surreal for us," Wade said. "He absolutely killed his part on the album and it's everything I envisioned it would be."
