Of Salt & Swine, 'Lights Out' -- Killer Song Lyrics

Killer Lyrics: I made this promise / There's no turning back tonight / The sun will never shine on that dolled up face again
Minneapolis deathcore band Of Salt & Swine pound out the brutality on their debut album, 'Lights Out,' on Innerstrength Records. In fine metal fashion, they pull no punches when it comes to the anger in their lyrics about a subject that isn't necessarily common for most death metal-inspired bands.
"With the lyrics, there is no way to say this without sounding like an emo mother f---er," guitarist Kenny Erickson told Noisecreep. "But a lot of our current lyrics have content concerning a few of our past girlfriends. Everybody has had their heart broken and stepped on, and this album really just shows how pissed off we are that these girls are doing this to us."
A vocalist that is no longer in the band wrote the album's lyrics, so along with the new helmsman, Dusty Rolli, comes new topics. "So our new vocalist has been writing about a bunch of stuff that really gets him irritated. For example, we're sick and tired of mother f---ers thinkin' they're hot s---. We also have a song completely dedicated to a certain 'hardcore crew' here in the Minnesota scene."
Of Salt & Swine have shows scheduled in the spring and summer to support 'Lights Out.'
