Remembering Dio, The Disturbed Interview -- ''Creep Show'
To say thanks for the memories, we invited a panel of fans and musicians to share their own stories about the man who helped shape the face of metal over his 40-plus-year career and introduced mainstream audiences to the now ubiquitous devil horns. We reached out to Testament frontman Chuck Billy, who toured with Dio and his has band Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath with Dio) on the Metal Masters Tour in 2008 and Disturbed frontman David Draiman, whose singing and performance style were greatly influenced by Dio. Joining the musicians on the panel were Revolver senior writer and Noisecreep regular Jon Wiederhorn and Noisecreep lead blogger Amy Sciarretto.
After we finished paying tribute to Dio, we talked to Draiman about Disturbed's upcoming album 'Asylum' (tentatively scheduled for August release) and their co-headlining slot on the first annual Rockstar Energy Drink Uproar Tour, which launches Aug. 17 in Minneapolis and runs through Oct. 4 in Madison, Wis. Joining Disturbed will be co-headliners Avenged Sevenfold, Stone Sour, Hellyeah, Halestorm, Airbourne and others.
