Aerosmith's Joe Perry in Motorcycle Accident
Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry was injured in a motorcycle accident last Thursday near his home in Massachusetts. According to several local newspapers, the jut-jawed Perry was driving his Ducati Monster when he was rear-ended by a 62-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Malibu sedan. Authorities said that Perry was not at fault, while the Malibu driver, Linda O'Brien, was charged with following a motorist too closely. Perry was admitted to a local hospital for treatment, but he was discharged with minor injuries. The band's publicist said that "Joe is home and he's fine. All's well and we're all grateful."
Luckily, the incident won't interfere with the band's forthcoming Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock Tour, which kicks off this week and boasts an Aug. 14 homecoming show at Fenway Park. Aerosmith are no stranger to touring mishaps and injuries, as vocalist Steven Tyler fell off a South Dakota stage last year, breaking his shoulder. Bassist Tom Hamilton also missed a few dates of that tour due to surgery.
