Cephalic CarnageCephalic Carnage are back to transform your brain into a puddle of mush -- since their name refers to a gaping head wound -- with the brand new song 'Abraxas of Filth' from the forthcoming album 'Misled By Certainty.' I am proud to report -- and you'll find out by checking out the song for yourself -- that the band's self-styled "Rocky Mountain hydro grind" style remains firmly intact.

You won't know if you are coming or going once 'Abraxas' gets through with your equilibrium. You'll feel like the contents of your skull were tossed into a blender that was left running for 24 hours. Immolation's Ross Dolan lends his roar as the back up vocalist on the song as well, so it's double the masochism here. The song's title also makes me think of Cradle of Filth, too, because of the obvious 'of filth' part!

You can check the song out now! And while you're there, take a gander at the shrunken head-style artwork for 'Misled by Certainty.' Doesn't that look like something that should be hanging around a jungle warrior's neck as a trophy from a tribal kill a la 'Cannibal Holocaust'?

'Misled by Certainty,' which is out on Aug. 31 through Relapse, is the follow-up to 2007's 'Xenospaien,' and Cephalic Carnage recorded the song at their own studio. You can catch the band on the Summer Slaughter Tour with Decapitated, the Faceless, All Shall Perish, the Red Chord and more. More post-Slaughter dates will be announced imminently.
