Age of End Offer Their Fans the 'Party Bus'

The diverse nu-metal rockers Age of End love their fans -- so much so that they provide good times before and after they take the stage. "Every couple of months, for our bigger shows," guitarist Mark McKellar told Noisecreep, "we rent a bus or two, pile in a ton of people -- 21-plus of course -- and give them a safe ride to and from the show. It's a wild time!"

One of the "bigger shows" mentioned involved the Massachusetts band playing last March at the Indoor Beach Party, organized by local rock station WAAF. "Nonpoint, Soulfly, Cold and Prong all had bad-ass sets." McKellar explained. "And we were able to play with Diecast again, which is always a good time. We've got an amazing group of fans from the Worcester/Fitchburg, [Mass.] area, and it keeps growing and growing anytime we can play out there."

Age of End's focus is very local, and the local New England rock and metal scene has had its mark on the band's sound, according to McKellar. "We've all been in bands since we were in our early teens," he said. "And going to shows has been just a part of life for a long time." Age of End claim Scissorfight, Tree, Sam Black Church and Diecast as influences.

The next party bus will be at WCYY's Oxxfest, with bands such as Shinedown, Puddle of Mudd and Chevelle. As a side note: three of the four members of Age of End are professional cooks, and the band hopes to hold a barbecue cook-off at the festival.

Age of End have received some label interest but have since decided to remain independent. They self-released their full-length album, 'The Rhythm of the Slaugher,' in January of 2009.
