In addition to these re-releases, Overkill announced the second leg of the Killfest 2010 Tour, which will play in geographical locales where they haven't performed in years. Fellow thrashers Forbidden will provide main support on the upcoming Overkill tour dates.
"I must first say, we are excited to have Forbidden along with us ... this is going to be a 'Bloodbath,'" vocalist Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth told Noisecreep. As for set list surprises, Blitz teased, "Ah, classics ... we always throw in a twist to make the night more interesting, a tune or two that is unexpected, sometimes even unrehearsed. As we have been around the world prior to this leg supporting 'Ironbound,' classics such as 'Feel the Fire,' 'Overkill,' 'Hammerhead' and 'Blood and Iron' have shown themselves 25 years later ... so yes, there is a Thrash-a Claus."
He reasoned that 'it seems that there is a new, younger, thrash-head out there, craving what 'is' as well as what 'was.' That gives the classics new life, and for good reason! To know and understand what is ... what was has a unique value, especially in today's metal world."
Overkill have more in store for fans in 2011, too. The band will tour with Destruction and Heathen for the winter installment of Killfest through Europe. "I do expect a writing period by summer," Blitz revealed. "And a possible third U.S. leg prior. I think the key for us in '11 is to be road-ready, this being the key to a great next project. Give 'em the cold steel boys!"
