Pop Evil Partner With Ex-UFC Champion Frank Mir
John Ricard
The band teamed up witht Mir to promote their crunchy, guitar-propelled new single, 'Last Man Standing,' alongside his main event fight against Miro "Cro Cop" Filipovi at UFC 119. The song plays in the background of a video of Mir training at his Suffer Training Center in Las Vegas. You can watch the footage of Mir, who is pretty much a human tank, training to 'Last Man Standing.' Poke around while you're there, since the band and the fighter are giving away some loot, including a signed Dean guitar and shirts from Mir's Suffer apparel line.
Mir's training -- and perhaps the music he listened to in order to help adrenaline through his veins -- had the best possible dividends. He won last Saturday's fight by KO in the third round.
"We are excited to debut our new single with such an amazing UFC fighter. Frank Mir is a proven warrior, and we are proud to have him as a fan of Pop Evil," exclaimed Pop Evil vocalist Leigh Kakaty. Mir chose the song because once he heard the song, he "immediately wanted to be a part of this. Pop Evil has a great sound and I think they are about to blow up!"
'Last Man Standing' appears on Pop Evil's 'War of Angels,' which will be out this winter via Universal Republic.
