Lewis is a committed philanthropist, as he is also poised to embark on his first overseas USO tour where he will play for U.S. troops stationed in the Persian Gulf. The as-yet-undisclosed itinerary will send Lewis on the road alongside members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including such gridiron greats as Lynn Swann, Michael Haynes and Paul Krause. With that collection of people, the troops are in for a real treat.
In addition to the Aaron Lewis tour dates, the frontman and his family experienced an incredible triumph. The It Takes a Community Foundation -- founded by Lewis and his wife Vanessa -- is happy to announce that the R.H. Conwell Elementary School in Worthington, Mass. has recently re-opened its doors, thanks in part to funds raised by last month's Aaron Lewis & Friends benefit concert. The proceeds from the even enabled the R.H. Conwell Elementary School to provide a seamless transition from a district-run facility to a community school. To date, ITAC has raised $150,000 in support of the school.
The It Takes a Community Foundation focuses on reviving rural communities throughout the greater New England area.
