Strengthen What Remains, 'Pathetic' -- Killer Song Lyrics
Evan Dell
"This song is written about lust," Strengthen What Remains vocalist Josh White told Noisecreep about the 'Pathetic,' the third track on their debut full-length. "The whole time, the song is meant to seem like its calling out a guy for being a scumbag, but in the end you realize the writer is calling himself out."
In a hardcore scene being flooded with party-hardy bands, a sentiment bearing moderation or restraint is something that can stand out. Josh sources our cultural environment as the reason why maintaining this way of thinking might be difficult.
"Being a man these days," he explained, "we are constantly bombarded with sexual images, and this turns into a skewed image of women. This song is a reality check that is meant to encourage men to to treat women with respect."
Strengthen What Remains will tour the eastern part of the U.S. with As Hell Retreats in October to support 'Humanity.'
