Rob Halford Suggests Schools Install Anti-Bullying Programs

Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford is speaking out about the uptick in gay teens committing suicide as a result of bullying, whether in the flesh or online. The Metal God, who is gay himself, expressed his distress over the fact that some young adults are being tortured so terribly that they are driven to kill themselves.

He told About.com that school officials should institute anti-bullying programs to prevent bullying from becoming an epidemic. "The most important thing is to show the love and support that is out there for everybody," Halford said, "whether you're being bullied or not."

MY SCHOOL BOARD SOLVED THE PROBLEM A FEW YEARS AGO BY HAVING EACH CLASSROOM COMPOSE A STUDENT'S 'BILL OF RIGHTS' EARLY IN SEPTEMBER. WITH THE TEACHER'S GUIDANCE THE STUDENTS COME UP WITH THE RULES.. AND MUST ABIDE BY THEM.

IT COULD BE DONE AT A SCHOOL WIDE LEVEL WITH CLASS REPS.. FOR EX. 'NO STUDENT SHELL BE BELITTLED OR PICKED ON BECAUSE OF COLOUR, RELIGION OR APPEARANCE.'
