One of A Day to Remember's claims to fame is their unusual style and the ability to mesh pop punk melody with hardcore brain smashing. It's a mix that has garnered them a lot of fans and something that resonates with the youth of today. Their new album, 'What Separates Me From You,' was produced by Chad Gilbert -- a fellow Floridian who straddled the line between pop punk and hardcore with his bands New Found Glory and Shai Hulud.

At 8:42 into this ''Creep Show' episode, singer Jeremy McKinnon and bassist Josh Woodard talk about how it would have been easier to be either pop punk or hardcore, instead of an amalgam of both. But they chose the road less traveled, and it has made all the difference.


McKinnon said that the new record sounds like the logical next step for ADTR, and that while it's not heavier, "it's a lot meaner and a lot more hardcore-influenced" as opposed to metalcore-influenced.
