Dukatalon, 'Saved by Fear' -- Album Art of the Week
"On one hand," Landau went on to explain, "fear is an instinct built into the genes of our ancestors to give us that fight or flight reaction that will preserve us against dangerous encounters. On the other hand, it is fear that cripples us, creating stagnation and not allowing us to move forward in life."
Noisecreep has featured Landau's art before, for his work on Buzzoven and Revocation releases, but his art for 'Saved by Fear' is the first we've covered that deals strictly with a human emotion.
"I felt that it was important to somehow convey both sides of this concept," Landau said. "At first glance, the central figure appears to be saving the other figure as they both are trapped by the surrounding spears and serpents that symbolize danger; yet when you look closer you see that the figure has not been saved at all and the central figure holding him is perhaps fear itself."
