Alternative Press 2011 Tour Lineup Announced
Fresno Media
Black-cloaked, polarizing rockers Black Veil Brides and post-hardcore superstars Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows -- both of which have been featured on AP's cover -- are the main attractions, while I See Stars, Versa Emerge and Conditions complete the bill.
There are a lot of familiar faces on the spring tour for AP readers. D.R.U.G.S. is the new outfit of former Chiodos singer Craig Owens, in case you were napping under a boulder at bottom of the ocean and didn't know. Members of From First to Last, Story of the Year and Matchbook Romance are also attached to this particular project.
"The AP Tour has always been about grabbing the next big artist before they break huge, and our spring 2011 lineup continues that tradition, hands down," said AP owner Mike Shea. "Black Veil Brides are one of the most-talked-about bands out there today -- a combo between shades of Mötley Crüe's music, the atmospheric eeriness of Marilyn Manson and the stage presence of Kiss.
"Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows mark two things: the return of rock star singer Craig Owens and the rise of the new-era supergroup (featuring members of From First to Last, Story of the Year, Underminded and Matchbook Romance). The AP Tour is a bit heavier this time around but it reflects the changing tastes in music of our AP fanbase and, being that we are Alternative Press, we always want to showcase and promote the latest and newest trends within the music scene. The AP Tour is guaranteed to do just that."
In addition to seeing bands you love, if you purchase a ticket, you get a one-year subscription to AP for yourself and for a friend. Each band on the bill will design their own T-shirt to be sold throughout the tour, making it an instant collector's item.
Even better, free posters of all the bands on the bill will be available in limited quantities at each tour stop. If you nab a poster, you can even have the band sign it at the nightly meet and greets, which won't cost you a dime, either.
You certainly get a lot of value for the price of admission with the AP tour.
