Geezer Butler: 'There Will Be Definitely No Reunion' for Black Sabbath

Black Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler took to his website to dispel any and all rumors that Black Sabbath will reunite for both a tour and a new album. Butler posted a definitive, terse statement on his website.

"I would like to make it clear, due to mounting speculation and rumours, that there will be definitely NO reunion of all four original members of Black Sabbath, whether to record an album or to tour."

Butler just dashed all of our dreams in one fell swoop, after both he and Ozzy Osbourne had previously said that the band members were in discussions about reuniting. We can only be left to wonder why things fell apart.

I have two words to explain why there won't be a reunion: Sharon Osbourne. She's the reason Ozzy has become the complete joke he is today. Tony, Geezer & Bill would be insane to want to do business with that witch.

I was gonna say. They did do a Reunion album in 1998 although it was live. There is Tony Martin, but he ruled out ever working with Tony Iommi ever again. It sucks that the last Sabbath studio album was Forbidden, a total piece of garbage. Maybe if they had stopped at Cross Purposes....which is my favorite!

I think the real reason Sabbath can't reunite with the original members is that Bill Ward probably can't handle it after having recent heart surgery. The band has been together for over 40 years. It has taken it's toll. Be thankful for what they have given us.

They were just too good of a band when they reformed with Ronnie James Dio and went out as Heaven And Hell. They can't go back to Ozzy unless, they are just looking for a pay day. It would be taking a step backwards and the would pale in comparison to the last three years with Dio.

i think the problem is, as it always has been, Ozzy. and the problem with Ozzy, like it always has been, is Sharon. Sharon props up Ozzy and feeds him will all kind of crap telling him that he is the most important player in the band and that every one else is must follow his rules and i think Geezer and Tony are fed up with it, as they should be. Heaven and Hell showed Ozzy that they could succed rather well without Ozzy so Ozzy got snooty. I say piss off to Ozzy and Sharon, the C*** (rhymes with ‘hunt’ – you’d be surpized how many former Ozzy bandmates hate her guts. there is even a petition with more than 5000 names on it to that effect).
