System of a Down Announce North American Tour Dates

System of a Down have just announced a handful of North American tour dates to go along with their much-anticipated European jaunt. The band welcomes Gogol Bordello as its special guest in North America. The dates:

May 10 - Edmonton, AL- Rexall Place
May 12 - Vancouver, BC- Rogers Arena
May 13 - Seattle, WA- Key Arena
May 15 - Mountain View, CA- Shoreline Amphitheatre
May 18 - Denver, CO - Comfort Dental Amphitheatre
May 19 - Albuquerque, NM- Journal Pavilion
May 22 - Las Vegas, NV - The PearTickets for most North American shows go on sale on Friday, March 4, or Saturday, March 5. Check Ticketmaster for exact on-sale dates.

After the North American leg of the tour, the band will play several European festivals including the Rock im Park and Rock am Ring festival in Germany, the Greenfield Festival in Switzerland, and the Download Festival in the UK.

SOAD previously announced plans to return to the stage at the end of 2010. The band has been on hiatus since 2006.
