Limp Bizkit Prepare Two Albums of New Material
Interscope Records
Once again, Limp Bizkit are creeping back into metal's consciousness. The band, which fell off the radar after experiencing rapid-fire success in the early '00s, has recorded its long-delayed fifth full-length, 'Gold Cobra,' as well as another full album of new material. While some might argue that one new Limp Bizkit album is more than enough, the band is back and is apparently making up for lost time.
Frontman Fred Durst, who proved he had an A&R man's ear when he signed Staind and Puddle of Mudd through his label deal with Interscope, recently posted the following Tweet: "Obviously we have two albums here, in case you didn't pick up on that. First one is 'Gold Cobra.' Due soon." Durst has indicated that he would like 'Cobra' to be released sometime this summer.
Limp Bizkit seem to be continuing their rap-rock approach, as both Lil Wayne and Raekwon have contributed vocals to the new album. Durst recently Tweeted about the collaboration with Weezy:
"Oh, excuse me, sixteenth song mixed is 'Ready To Go' featuring Lil Wayne. GFY! I love it."
KISS bassist and marketing mastermind Gene Simmons is also reportedly a guest on 'Gold Cobra.'
Durst Tweets regularly about the band's progress, so follow him on Twitter if the Bizkit interests you.
