The Darkness Step Back Into the Light
Atlantic
Remember The Darkness? The British hard rock band with an old-fashioned glam sound soared to prominence with their 2003 debut, 'Permission to Land,' before fading away when their second album, 'One Way Ticket to Hell...and Back,' tanked like it was army-bound.
After a five year hiatus, the band is stepping back into the limelight, according to a post on their website. The band, which folded indefinitely in 2006 after vocalist Justin Hawkins split, will perform on June 10th at the legendary Download festival in the UK. The band will also work on recording its third album.
"The idea of playing Download terrifies us," Hawkins told Reuters. "We played in an early slot on the main stage in 2003 and we were frightened then. It's reassuring to know that nothing has changed! On a serious note, it's the most rockest [sic] of festivals and the perfect place for us to begin the next phase of our journey."
Welcome back, gentlemen!
