Five Finger Death Punch Vocalist Offers Audio Book Reading of Horror Novel

Music and film writer Rick Florino is releasing the latest installment of 'Dolor,' his thrilling horror novella series, on May 5th. 'The Dolor Saga: Books I-V' bundles the first five books of the 10-volume series and is available for the incredibly metal price of $6.66 here. Two stories, 'Decker' and 'Cassie, are previously unreleased.
In celebration of the release, the author has teamed up with Five Finger Death Punch vocalist Ivan Moody for an iTunes audio book version of 'Dolor: Lila – Book 1.' Moody's haunting vocalizations seem like a perfect fit for Moody's chilling prose.
"Ivan is one of the most enigmatic frontmen that heavy metal has ever seen," Florino recently told Noisecreep. "He brings a distinct intensity to Five Finger Death Punch that few singers can muster. That intensity and his vulnerability really make him perfect to do the reading. The book is a balance between those heightened emotions and this dark, evil brutality. Nobody knows how to bring listeners into that space better than him. His voice can touch upon a cornucopia of feelings, and that's exactly what we need. Also, he's one of the nicest guys on the planet. I couldn't have done this with anyone but Ivan. I don't think any other author has had a rock star perform his book like this either, so we're breaking ground together."
