It has been almost a year since Ronnie James Dio succumbed to cancer, but the rocker's memory lives on in many ways. Former Dio members Rudy Sarzo, Craig Goldy, Simon Wright, and Scott Warren will tour Europe to pay tribute to the man with the massive voice under the moniker of DIO Disciples. They will be joined by Tim "Ripper" Owens of Judas Priest/Iced Earth fame, as well as Toby Jepson of Little Angels.
Tour dates will be posted once they are confirmed. The good news is that Europeans aren't the only ones who will get to witness the DIO Disciples in action; the group is planning for a US tour as well.
The Disciples are fully supported by Ronnie James Dio's widow, Wendy, who recently posted that "there will never be another Ronnie, but we want to keep his music alive and hope you will support the band and become one of the DIO Disciples."
