Yes and Styx Tour the US This Summer

Prog nerds, put down those Dream Theater tablatures and get ready for a steamy summer night out. Progressive rock legends Yes and Styx have announced that they will join forces for a summer tour. The Progressive US tour -- no relation to the insurance company -- will cover 22 cities between July 4th and August 3rd. Tickets go on sale this Friday, and if you dig outside-the-box rock, it'll be money well spent.

Yes will release their latest record, 'Fly From Here,' on July 12th. The band's current touring lineup consists of guitarist Steve Howe, bassist Chris Squire, drummer Alan White, and lead singer Benoit David. The band will also be reuniting with keyboard player Geoff Downes. Yes will be playing the title track from the new album, along with a selection of hits from 'Drama,' 'Fragile,' and 'Close to the Edge.' It will be criminal if they don't play 'Owner of a Lonely Heart'!

Styx vocalist Tommy Shaw heaped praise on his tourmates. "When I first heard Yes, I knew that the music world was forever changed," he said. "They took progressive rock to a place that had never been expressed in such an impressive yet accessible way. Who among you didn't make it a point to learn the acoustic guitar intro to 'Roundabout'? We're very excited to tour with them for the very first time."

Yes were equally complimentary. "We are excited to have Styx on tour with us," said bassist Chris Squire. "I consider them to be in the vein of Yes and the cutting edge of prog-rock in America."

It's not Yes or Styx. I don't understand how people consider it Yes witout Jon Anderson. I've seen this line up and it just doesn't cut it. Yes fan for 35 years and 135 live shows.
