For a band on the cusp of retirement, Scorpions sure are staying busy. The veteran rockers are going on a farewell tour, releasing a final album, and planning to re-record some of their classic hits, such as 'Rock You Like a Hurricane.' That song, easily one of The Scorps' most memorable tunes, will be used in the forthcoming film 'Rock of Ages,' according to a Tweet from the film's director, Adam Shankman.
Other artists that have music featured in the film include Pat Benatar, Bon Jovi, Journey, Poison, and Twisted Sister. 'Rock of Ages,' inspired by the hit Broadway play of the same name, will land at multiplexes in June 2012 and stars Tom Cruise. While Cruise may not strike you as a rocker, he did show some dynamic and comedic range in 'Tropic Thunder,' so give him the benefit of the doubt.
