Bon Jovi Tour to Continue Without Richie Sambora

Bon Jovi's camp released a statement last night, confirming that guitarist Richie Sambora is indeed entering rehab and that the band's current slate of tour dates in North America and overseas will not be canceled or postponed.

"Our support for Richie is absolute. He is, and will remain, a member of Bon Jovi," read the statement. "Although he will be absent from upcoming shows for the time being, we very much look forward to his healthy return. In the meantime, we will keep our commitment to our fans and continue our tour."

No further comment about Sambora's situation has been released. MTV contacted the band's spokesperson, who declined to comment on who will take over for Sambora on the road. The band's tour beginstomorrow, so we guess we'll find out who is filling in for Sambora at that time. The tour runs through July 31 in Spain.

Big deal. Jeff Hanneman of Slayer was bitten by a spider on his arm & had to undergo skin grafts because the flesh necrotized (he was probably bitten by a brown recluse). Man up Richie!!! You're not fit to be Jeff Hanneman's roadie!!!

An old fart like Ritchie and the other likes are practically old enough to be on social security and they are still abusing drugs and alcohol. It might have been "cool" when they were young, but now it shows how they never grew up and are plain stupid. Could care less if rock 'n roll junkies do what they do to their minds and bodies.

Richie Sambora is a big part of Bon Jovi. Does Jon think everyone comes just to see him? They should postpone until Richie is ready to tour.Is it just about about the almighty buck or giving the fans the music they love? The whole band makes the music and the soul!

Umm, Kurt. Bobby Bandiera has been playing with Bon Jovi now for several years. He has played in Richie's absence before and he'll do it again. He's every bit Richie's equal, musically. Personally, he's even a better person. Relax, the band will be fine.

It's amazing that the band has stood by Richie for so long, but they're like family and that's what being a family is all about. Hopefully, he'll finally be able to get rid of his demons and live a clean life.
