Disturbed to Donate Song Proceeds to West Memphis Three Defense Fund

Disturbed are the latest in a long line of rockers and actors including Henry Rollins and Johnny Depp to show their support of The West Memphis Three, a trio of Arkansas teens who were convicted of murdering three little boys in Arkansas in 1994. The band is unleashing the previously unreleased song '3' for 99 cents via their website. Every cent of the profits from the sale of the track will be donated to The Damien Echols Defense Fund.
The Damien Echols Defense Fund was established to pay for legal fees, forensic tests, and other investigative costs surrounding the West Memphis Three case. The Free the WM3 Support Fund is a group of private individuals who strongly believe that Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley are serving prison terms for murders they did not commit.
Two documentaries, 'Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills' and 'Paradise Lost 2: Revelations,' were released about the case and there has been an outpouring of support from the arts and entertainment communities who've made the WM3 a bit of a cause célèbre in the rock world. Due to sloppy handling of evidence and an overall gross mismanagement of the case by authorities, it is widely believed, even by the victim's parents, that Echols, Baldwin, and Misskelley are innocent of the crime.
